LIWA AGM and consitution proposed changes 2021

The proposed Constitution will be presented to members for adoption by way of Special Resolution at the Annual General Meeting on 27th October 2021. However, we are keen to get any comments or questions in relation to our revised Constitution before then, so they can be considered before we give formal notice of the Special Resolution.

Aquatic Industry continues post-COVID recovery

The latest Royal Life Saving report on the impact of COVID-19 on WA’s Aquatics Industry has found that, despite the hardships faced by centres, the Aquatic Recreation Industry is rapidly recovering post COVID-19. Aquatic recreation centres have seen a 23% increase in visitation rates from this time last year despite COVID-19's earlier interruptions.

SafeWA Contact Register

From Friday, 12 February, any businesses already using their own QR code for registration will be required to also clearly display the WA Government’s SafeWA QR code.

Free Translating and Interpreter Services

As we move into summer and our restrictions are reducing, our facilities are attracting more people. Many of these people may be from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds. The Australian Government provides a free translating and interpreter services for all Local government authorities.

Contact Registers required from 5th December 2020

As you may have heard by now, the Premier announced the introduction of contact register requirements for Western Australian venues from 5 December 2020, and the launch of a new QR code application, SafeWA, that will assist will provide businesses and venues with a free digital app-based digital contact register system.
