LIWA Aquatic & Recreation Seminar – Karratha

Focus: De-escalation of Conflict

LIWA Aquatics, together with our Principal Professional Development Sponsor Pool Robotics Perth, and in partnership with Royal Life Saving WA and the City of Karratha, invites aquatic, recreation and Council staff from the North West Region to attend the Aquatic & Recreation Seminar in Karratha in 2027. Industry traders are also welcome to attend and are encouraged to register via the link provided.

The highlight of the program is a practical De-escalation of Conflict and Aggression Workshop, delivered by Dr Christian Mauri. This session is designed to equip lifeguards, aquatic technical operators and recreation staff with practical tools to manage volatile situations and enhance safety within their facilities.

The seminar will also include sessions on:

• Critical Incident Response
• Attracting and Retaining Staff in the North West
• WA Health qualification and accreditation requirements for Group 1 Facilities
• Chlorine Gas Handling Checklists
• Case Studies and Benchmarking
• Breakout sessions addressing current issues and challenges
• A technical tour of the host facility
