President’s Report 2024–25 (Summary)
The past year was one of transition and achievement for LIWA Aquatics. Despite operating under an Acting Executive Officer, the organisation delivered strong outcomes, including a successful annual conference and ongoing industry advocacy. The Institute farewelled long-serving Executive Officer and Life Member Steve Good, and welcomed Sian Edwards to the Board. A loss was recorded due to the adjustment of membership income reporting, which is now recognised on an amortised basis.
The Board would also like to acknowledge and thank Sarahjayne Westberg, who devoted 11 years to the industry as a Board member. Her advocacy, integrity, and dedication have driven significant improvements in governance and professional development. SJ will continue to lead LIWA’s mentoring program and the Accreditation and Membership review. We are forever grateful.
Looking ahead, LIWA remains focused on strengthening partnerships, leadership, and member engagement across Western Australia’s aquatic and recreation sector.
