Members join us on 17 April for a Technical Tour and Presentation at Arena Joondalup, showcasing Perth’s newest state-of-the-art 50-metre pool, part of a $13 million Cook Government investment designed to meet the growing demand for aquatic facilities in Perth’s northern suburbs.

Arena Joondalup is one of Western Australia’s busiest sport and recreation hubs, welcoming more than 1.3 million visitors each year, and the new competition-standard pool significantly enhances the venue’s aquatic offering. The facility features 10 lanes, starting blocks at both ends, upgraded timing technology and a movable bulkhead, allowing the pool to convert to short-course mode with up to 20 lanes and support a range of aquatic programs including water polo and elite competition.

The session will include a technical overview of the facility, insights into the design and operational features, and a guided behind-the-scenes tour of the new aquatic space. Attendees will also learn about the pool’s accessibility improvements and AI-powered drowning detection technology, which enhances swimmer safety across the venue.
