Community Infrastructure Planning Course (CIPC) 

Proudly supported by the WA Government, the Leisure Institute of Western Australia (LIWA), in partnership with Royal Life Saving WA, is pleased to deliver the second Community Infrastructure Planning Course (CIPC) for 2026.     The course has been developed specifically to support emerging, new and existing community infrastructure planners across WA. This five-day, industry-led program is designed and delivered by experienced Community Infrastructure Planners.

Cost:$2,000 (members); $2,500 (non-members) Morning tea, lunch, and afternoon tea included.

Dinner Monday night included.

Accommodation: If travelling to Perth, we recommend Rendezvous Hotel, Seashells Scarborough, Ramada or Quest Scarborough.  Staying in this area is not required if you are using your own transport to and from the venues. 

Transport - Transportation will be organised from the from Scarborough Beach each day for those requiring transport to/from the venues and activities.  We will send further communications closer to the date on daily pick-up times. Please indicate your transport requirements and dietary needs in the Delegate Details Form at the end of this document. 

About the Course

The CIPC is delivered over five consecutive days. Participants will complete 9 practical modules, supported by site and operational activities, guest presentations, case studies, guides, and practical resources for immediate workplace application.

This new course offers a high-quality, affordable, and relevant non-formal learning pathway that complements or extends beyond traditional tertiary options. It strengthens career pathways, supports workforce capability, and helps retain skilled staff — particularly addressing shortages of Community Infrastructure, Leisure and Recreation Planners in Western Australia
