Alkimos Aquatic Recreation Centre Technical Tour

The City of Wanneroo, in partnership with facility manager BlueFit, and the Leisure Institute of Western Australia (LIWA), invites you on an exclusive behind-the-scenes tour of the $88m Alkimos Aquatic Recreation Centre (AARC).

The AARC brings together aquatic, fitness and community sport facilities and represents a significant investment in community wellbeing, providing more opportunities for residents, schools and sporting clubs to swim, learn, play and stay active closer to home.

On this tour, you’ll be among the first to see the heated indoor and outdoor pools, including the City’s first 50-metre public pool, as well as the leisure and waterplay areas, warm-water program pool, four-court stadium, health club, studios and community spaces.

You'll also get insight into the planning, delivery and commissioning of a project of this scale. Fun fact, more than 100,000 tiles were laid across the aquatic areas, while about three million litres of water was required to fill the pools.

The tour will showcase the indoor sports and fitness facilities, including the state-of-the-art Technogym-equipped gymnasium, functional training zone, group fitness and cycling studios, Reformer Pilates studio and dedicated recovery area.

Located in Alkimos Central opposite the METRONET station, AARC will meet the needs of Perth's rapidly growing northern corridor, including Yanchep, Two Rocks, Eglinton, Butler, Jindalee and Quinns Rocks, for decades to come. 

Following the tour, guests can stay for networking, refreshments and informal discussions with colleagues and project representatives, courtesy of BlueFit.
