LIWA Aquatics proudly celebrates and thanks Sarahjayne (SJ) Westberg for her remarkable 11 years of service on the LIWA Board — a period defined by leadership, innovation, and unwavering commitment to the aquatic industry.

During her tenure, Sarahjayne served as Vice President and was instrumental in developing LIWA’s first strategic plan, setting a clear direction for growth and professionalism across the sector. She represented LIWA at regional and interstate events, strengthening networks and advocacy, and helped expand the Annual State Conference into the flagship event it is today. Sarahjayne also championed professional development through the creation of the LIWA Mentoring Program, empowering the next generation of aquatic leaders.

Her influence has extended far beyond the boardroom — including presenting at the World Drowning Prevention Conference and shaping industry best practice through her strategic insight and genuine care for people.

Reflecting on her time, SJ shared:

“LIWA has been a huge part of my professional journey. I am grateful for the friendships, growth, and impact we have made together. It’s been an honour to contribute to something I care so deeply about.”

While stepping down from the Board, SJ’s contribution to the industry is far from over. She continues to give back through leading LIWA’s Membership and Accreditation Review, guiding the next phase of professional standards, and continuing her leadership of the Mentoring Program. True to form, she’s also hosting the upcoming Technical Tour at Cockburn ARC, continuing to share her knowledge and passion with peers.

Her ongoing volunteerism is a shining example of the community spirit that defines LIWA Aquatics. SJ’s dedication reminds us all that the strength of our industry depends on those who step forward to contribute their time, experience, and heart.
