Expression of Interest: Voluntary Board Director

LIWA is seeking a skilled and committed individual to join its Board as a voluntary Director.

The Board is responsible for the governance, strategic direction and stewardship of the organisation. The Board oversees the long-term sustainability of LIWA and works to ensure the organisation continues to deliver positive outcomes for the community, members, volunteers, and employees.   The Board has identified a need to strengthen capability in the following areas:

• Recreation/Planning Sector 
• Finance & Audit
• Policy & Advocacy 
• Member Engagement 
• Government Policy & Advocacy  

LIWA recognises that diversity of thought, background, experience and perspective contributes to stronger governance and more effective decision-making. The Board values diversity across a range of dimensions, including gender, age, cultural background, disability, geographic location, lived experience and professional background.  

Directors are expected to think strategically, exercise sound judgement, contribute actively to Board discussions and act in the best interests of LIWA as a whole. For further information regarding the Board and Director responsibilities, please refer to the Constitution and Board Charter.
