Reporting Now Open for the 2025 Waterwise Aquatic Centre Program

Published Sat 23 Aug 2025

Reporting for the 2025 Waterwise Aquatic Centre Program is now officially open, giving facilities across Western Australia the opportunity to maintain their endorsement or apply for higher levels of recognition in water efficiency.

The program recognises centres that demonstrate leadership in sustainable water use, with recognition levels including:

  • Endorsed
  • Gold
  • Platinum Waterwise Centre of the Year
  • 5-Year Recognition

Local governments aiming to achieve Gold Waterwise Council status must ensure all Class 1 Aquatic Centres within their boundary are endorsed as Waterwise Aquatic Centres.

How Centres Can Apply

Facilities can choose from two application pathways:

  • Option 1: Maintain Endorsement
Complete the Annual Report Endorsement Action Plan (as in previous years).

  • Option 2: Apply for Gold Recognition
For centres that have been in the program for more than 12 months, complete the Annual Report Endorsement Action Plan and the required Gold Action Plan.
Gold-endorsed centres may be invited to submit an application for Platinum consideration.

All applications must be submitted to WEpartnerships@watercorporation.com.au by 31 October 2025.

Support Available for Applicants

To assist centres that may be short on time or unsure of requirements, program coordinators are offering quick phone consultations (around 15 minutes) to guide applicants through the process. In-person support may also be available for facilities within the Perth metro area. Contact  Erin Vis

Centres can also request water use data from the Water Corporation to ensure accurate reporting. Historical reports are available to assist with trend analysis, while program criteria provide regional benchmarks to help facilities understand their water efficiency performance.

Free Online Training

As part of the program, participating centres have access to free online training modules. The most relevant module for aquatic centre staff is Water Auditing for Non-Residential Facilities.

This training covers:

  • Understanding water efficiency
  • Identifying opportunities for savings
  • Analysing water use
  • Conducting site-based water audits
  • Detecting leaks
  • Developing water management strategies

These resources aim to build industry knowledge and strengthen the sector’s commitment to sustainable water use.  Waterwise training for businesses - Water Corporation
