Submission of abstracts for the WA Aquatic Recreation Conference by LIWA Aquatics is now open. The Conference Committee invites all potential conference presenters to submit a maximum of 350 words for the body of the abstract to cover the following:
- Title/theme of abstract – Clear and concise
- Name and background of the presenter
- Background – Why is this relevant to the Aquatic Recreation industry
- Description of content – Key points, delivery method, interactive, informative etc.
- Results and Lessons learnt – Key takeaways for LIWA members
- Conclusions – Significance and future implications for the industry
- Required presentation equipment and maximum participant numbers
The LIWA membership base has identified a number of themes that are currently particularly relevant to the industry. These themes include:
- Recruiting, retaining and developing quality staff in both metropolitan, regional and rural settings
- Diversity legislation and emerging issues affecting the industry
- Developments in facility programs, procedures, equipment and maintenance
- Rising costs
- AI and new technologies
- Developing sustainability in aquatic facilities (financial and environmental)
- National and international trends in our industry
- Changes to legislation and standards
- Mental health and safety in quickly changing and uncertain environments
Please submit abstracts by 31 May 2024 by completing the online form. Abstracts will be assessed on the following criteria with successful submitters being notified via email.
- Completeness and quality of abstract
- Relevance to Industry
- Addresses identified theme(s)
- Industry and presentation experience of the presenter
